Art & Digital Art Instructor
Mon | Tue | Wed

Allison started focusing on making art, learning techniques, and exploring the creative process in 1996.

Experience includes degrees in art and art history from Sacramento City College and UC Davis, plus other professional experiences in the local art community.

Education in art included drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and sculpture.

Among the many distinguished professors who provided instruction during higher education, Chris Daubert was a close mentor for many years. This included group classes, independent study, taking Allison on as a studio assistant for a year, and guidance that led toward successfully winning the Kingsley Merit Award.

Other notable instructors include Fred Dalkey and Mitra Fabian (SCC); Wayne Thiebaud, Stella Ebner, and Bryce Vinokurov (UCD). Art instructors have exhibited regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Other experience includes gallery internships, additional studio assisting, public vending, live painting, and volunteer positions in school, such as a teacher’s assistant, lab monitor, and organizing the student gallery.

After pursuing a career in social work, Allison found a need to return to a life based around art in 2021, and now dedicates time to making art and teaching as a tool for joy and wellness.
