Mayling specializes in violin and has been playing for 17 years. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Performance from California State University, Sacramento. During her undergraduate studies, she served as a student teacher assistant for the CSUS String Project—an after-school program where children learn to play the violin and cello. It was through this experience that she discovered her passion for teaching.
In addition to her studies at CSUS, Mayling also earned Associate Degrees in Commercial Music – Performance and Commercial Music – Songwriting/Arranging from Sacramento City College.
