Do you need to have your own instrument to begin violin classes?

Yes, it’s best that students have their own violin so they can practice at home. Natomas Music Square does have violins available to rent if needed, however. Another good option is a local music shop that offers instrument rentals, such as Tims Music or Klines in Sacramento.

How do I know which size violin to get?

Great question! If you visit the music store, they allow customers to try different sizes to see which instrument will fit them best.

What is the right age to start violin lessons?

You are never too old to start learning to play! For our younger students wanting one-on-one violin lessons, we do recommend ages 7 and up. For students under 7 years old, parent participation and commitment is required. Violin is certainly not the easiest instrument to learn; But, if parents and students are dedicated and determined with their music classes, then it’s well-worth the effort.

What levels of violin lessons do you offer? Beginning, intermediate, advanced?
